It’s time to stop the cost-shifting!
Wisconsin has long failed to get its fair share of Medicaid money from the federal government. The result is enormous cost-shifting to employers and consumers of health care. Individuals and businesses are paying more for health care because of this cost-shifting.
The Legislature now has an opportunity to capture hundreds of millions of dollars in additional federal support for Medicaid. The plan before state lawmakers represents a common-sense approach to address a chronic problem.
It is time for legislators to act.
